This laboratory aims to build the first domestic research base for the physical performance testing technology of functional thin film materials in the field of thin film materials, boost the research and development of functional thin film materials, and provide a guarantee platform for the industrial transformation and upgrading of Hubei Province and the entire country, especially the industry The era is transforming and upgrading to the information era.
The Hubei Provincial Engineering Laboratory mainly includes the following laboratories:

Introduction to the laboratory
(1) Thin film material thermal analysis laboratory
Material thermophysical properties are the key parameters for basic research, analysis and calculation and engineering design of specific thermal processes. It is one of the most basic properties of materials. It is widely used in scientific research, engineering design, industrial production and other fields, and it is also an energy-saving technology in various industries. The basis of development.
Thin film material thermophysical properties analysis and testing laboratory is to measure the important characteristic parameters of the thermophysical properties of thin film materials, such as: thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity, thermal expansion coefficient, emissivity, heat flux, etc. Evaluate the phase change characteristics and thermal stability of thin film materials to meet the needs of the rapid development of high-tech in the fields of nanotechnology, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), low-dimensional materials, and nanobiomedicine.
(2) Thin film material sample preparation and processing laboratory
The laboratory provides sample preparation for film material performance testing to meet the testing needs of other performance testing laboratory instruments. The laboratory has thin film preparation equipment: magnetron sputtering coating apparatus, ion beam sputtering coating system. Various thin films can be prepared: ceramic oxides, nitride films, metal multilayer films, and various superlattices; at the same time, nanotubes, nanopowders, and quantum dots can be synthesized. Precision cutting machines, grinding and polishing machines, and photoetching machines perform micro-processing on the surface of block and film samples to meet different sample testing requirements.
(3) Test laboratory for electromagnetic properties of thin film materials
The electrical and magnetic properties test laboratory of thin film materials is mainly to meet the magnetic properties, electrical properties and microscopic tests of thin film materials. Measurement parameters include: resistivity, carrier concentration, mobility, magnetic moment, hysteresis loop, etc. The laboratory is mainly equipped with: film variable temperature resistance tester, Hall effect tester, ferroelectric analyzer, comprehensive physical property measurement system, magnetic test system, etc.
(4) Testing laboratory for mechanical properties of thin film materials
Thin film materials are widely used in the design of micromechanical systems. The design and material selection of the micro-mechanical system are limited by the processing technology, and a large number of thin-film materials are used. The mechanical properties of thin film materials, such as elastic modulus, residual stress, Poisson's ratio, fracture strength, fatigue strength, etc., are important parameters that determine the performance of MEMS components and are indispensable data in micromechanical design. The mechanical properties and performance of thin film materials and bulk materials may be different. This is due to the strong size effect. The mechanical properties of thin film materials are closely related to the film forming equipment, film forming conditions and heat treatment conditions, and the mechanics of the micro components The characteristics are also difficult to test with conventional methods, and there are many difficulties.
Thin film material mechanical properties test laboratory mainly focuses on the hardness, elastic modulus, stress, thermal stress, surface roughness, step height, adsorption force and other parameters of thin film materials. The laboratory has instruments: X-ray residual stress analyzer, film thermal stress test system, probe profiler, nano-scratch tester, nano-indentation tester, solid surface ZETA potential analyzer, etc.
(5) Test laboratory for optical performance of thin film materials
Optical film is a product of highly comprehensive engineering technology science. Nowadays, it is no exaggeration to say that people’s lives are inseparable from the application of optical films, whether it is the research and development of precision instruments, displays, and thin-film solar cells in the high-tech field, or the audio-visual equipment, digital products, and digital products used in daily life. Optical film materials such as glasses have been widely used. Therefore, the determination of the optical properties and optical constants of materials has a very important position in the preparation of high-performance optical thin film devices.
